    IE 9 and Spell Check

Can anyone please explain to me why IE9 does not have a native spell-check capability? All other browsers seem to have it. Is there a technical reason that prevents IE from having this? Has MS ever explained why spell-check is not included as a feature of IE (especially in 9 Beta and RC)?

    Thanks

I'd love to the know the reasons for this glaring and long overdue omission as well. It appears to be one of the great mysteries

If you haven't already, try ieSpell:

Thanks for the suggestions. I used to use ieSpell when I was using IE8. I did not need it in Chrome as it already has one. And, now I am absolutely hooked to IE9 (at least the RC version). I'll try your suggestions on my install of IE9 or maybe wait till after Monday when the RTM is released.

But really, this lack of a spell-check is mystifying. What's even more mystifying is that the folks at MS don't even seem to bring it up either (at least as far as I have been able to look into it).

Edit: To tell the truth, I'd rather not have something like a spell-check capability in the form of an add-on. I'd much prefer if it was baked into the browser...but what the hell do I know about these things!

    Thanks.

Couldn't get ieSpell to work, Speckie seems to be working.

This will save me time, checking for errors, which I'm not very patient with.

I asked the IE Team on YouTube if they could add a spell check, and I was quite surprised to see that they replied saying the'd pass it on to the team. Doesn't seem like they remembered to include it...

    I'm getting a Mac! xD
I don't see why it was a problem to add it. Maybe they'll add it in an update...
