    Turn off tooltips in IE9?

I am trying to get to like IE9, but am aggravated by the over-enthusiastic tooltips popping up all the time. The favorites menu (under the star icon) is practically unusable. Does anyone know how to turn off the tips popping off all over the place? It may sound like a minor annoyance, but unless I can get rid of them IE9 is a no-go.

How is it "unusable"...when I hover over the star (for a few seconds), I get one small line of text in a tooltip. It doesn't cover anything or obstruct view of anything. What is yours doing differently?

Here's how it's unusable - As I go through the favorites list, it instantly (not after a few seconds) brings up lines of text that obscure the next items on the list. So as you go down the list, the next item is always obscured. Really distracting, really anti-ergonomic, and obnoxious in the extreme.

Can anyone tell me how to turn this off? I don't want to be schooled on why it's all fine and good. For me, it's not. It's enough to me not use IE9. I'd just like to turn it off. Anyone know how?

You could try disabling active scripting via Internet Options/Security/Internet/Custom Level/Scripting. Not sure if that will work and it may break many sites.

You said the problem happens "As I go through the favorites list". What if you go through the list in Windows Explorer? I've been doing it that way via shortcut on my desktop. I arrange the Windows Explorer window for details view and arranged by modified date to put the most recent entry on top...later move it to a convenient sub-folder or just find later it using Windows Start/Search.
