Windows 7: Why I think IE9 sucks

Windows XP will soon fade away, and when time passes and new OS' release so will Vista and 7. It's simple.

You said that you have to restart, but it's actually a random thing. It will either close explorer.exe or restart. On my Packard Bell, I had to restart, on my custom built rig I didn't.

About the user interface, if you think Firefox looks cool then you should look at Oprah. I stopped using Firefox ever since. I think the user interface is nice and easy to get used to.

About Bing being the default search engine is false. You can set it to Google, Yahoo! ect.

IE9 is terribly buggy...I'm not sure what you people are doing or not doing that say it's fine and great but you surely can't be using it all that much!!
I myself prefer IE over any others such as firefox or chome however it drives me nuts and boggles my mind when we are forced to use an inferior browser just because someone at microsoft has decided to no longer let us use the older more stable browser (IE8).
I am a computer repair tech and have for months now been removing and down-grading peoples computers to IE8 so they can get the functionality back. Personally I think it's silly, and it SHOULD be allowed for Windows 7 users to chose between using the IE version of their preferance....After all we aren't talking about APPLE here were we have our experience controlled by big brother Apple because heck he just knows what we want more than we do....THAT is the reason Windows OS's have exceled in their market share.... CHOICE....consumers deserve it and demand it! Ignoring that fact can and may be deadly....

IE9 wasn't forced on anyone - Windows 7 comes with IE8, so if someone has IE9, they installed it. Second, IE9 works fine - I spend hours and hours inside of it every day, and do not have a lot of the issues other folks seem to bring up here. Most of this revolves around not being logged in and running as an Administrator (which disables a good bit of the protection you get running IE8 or 9 on Win7), UAC disabled, and installing every random thing that hooks into IE (at this point, IE is running non-Microsoft code in the core of the browser engine - you figure out what's happening at that point, 'cause it just got a *lot* harder to troubleshoot).

I don't fret the IE9 debacle. IE was lagging in version 8, 7, and 6. Haven't used any of them in years. I used Avant for a while (until it croaked) and then switched to Firefox.

To me, concern over the quality of IE 9 (or any other version) is like worrying about the cheese on the dark side of the moon. It doesn't exist, so I ignore it.

I find IE9 a good browser by the time a spell checker (Speckie) and a couple of tracking protection lists (TPLs) are added.

Just like Short People, IE9 has no reason to live

I've ALWAYS had IE. I loved the feel and the look; nice eye candy.
Then, somebody at Microsoft decided it needed to drive us loyalists away.
They searched high and low for decades seeking a way to make us abandon ship.
Finally, they've succeed. It's name is "ADD-ON NOTIFICATIONS." Apparently,
they are VERY proud of it because it can't be disabled.
Yesterday I took Google Chrome for a spin. I like. I bought.
