Here's why I don't like IE9:
1. Doesn't have Adblock Plus which is amazing if you haven't tried it.
2. If there is a webpage with several ads, you have to click the back button a million times for to g back to the previous page.
3. Sometimes, there is random locking up on a few websites.
4. Youtube is laggy on it on a quad core and a Radeon HD 5670. If you scroll or click on anything, the video (but not the sound) will stutter.
5. Microsoft never fixes the bugs in IE (except for security bugs), so it's almost like they don't care.
6. It doesn't run as well as other browsers on low spec systems.
1. Ever heard of tracking protection lists? True, it may not be as "perfect" as AdBlock, but with TPLs you at least have your privacy and protection from malicious ads. I don't want to be offensive, but if you dislike every single ad you see, you shouldn't use the internet at all, because ads are a vital and essential part of running (and keeping up) many websites...
2. Right click the back button and choose whichever page you want to go back to, simple as that
3. I, and many others, would gladly test this out for you, if you'd be so kind to provide a few examples.
4. Laggy YouTube=laggy Flash, update it and blame Adobe, not IE.
5. And which bugs would those be? Rendering is, as already mentioned, different in IE because of the website architecture, not IE itself. There are no UI bugs (that I know of) and I'm pretty sure most people would agree when I say that a more secure browser is far more useful than a shiny fancy virus-collector
6. I am running it on 64bit Vista with a badly damaged GPU and I still get the same framerates and hardware acceleration as I once used to in 7 (but 7 for some reason outright does not work properly this way). And I'd say my PC is pretty outdated by today's standards.
I'm not one of those people that absolutely hates ads, but they are getting more and more intrusive and more and more annoying and in your face, so I feel that I have every right in the world to block them until they aren't so intrusive etc. What's the point of having to see 1 Trick to a flat belly and Dentists Hate her and all of that stuff. I'm alright with ads if they would stay on the side of the page where they belong. Also, I've already tried what you said about going back except I drag down from the back button which does the same thing. On some websites, the list goes on and on and on with ad pages and I have to close out the tab because I would be clicking for a while before I would finally go back to the previous page. I'm not one of those IE haters, I would love to use IE, but it just doesn't work for me.
The thing is that most of the performance bogging down, not only in IE, but also any other browser, is usually due to either buggy versions of Flash or outdated versions of Java. IE works just as well as any other browser on the market, and I quickly realized that much of the hate towards IE is just prejudice and opinion formed without any personal experience. I mean, just look at the first post in this thread, that should explain a lot.
Though loving IE9 for what it is, here's one thing that completely pi***s me off: favicons for a lot of websites are not displayed in IE, but other browsers have no such problems. That's what I could never understand lol
See? Even a fanboy's love isn't perfect lol
Ya I Agree IE9 sucks.. I had a strange experience.
Recently i can't use neither skype nor yahoo messenger, because their is a termination when i startup those applications. i had a bad experience, search everywhere in net, solution for my problem.
At first i thought its a virus, attach my notebook, so that i cannot open use any messenger.
Next i thought its flash player problem, tried with other version of flash.
At last i came to know that the problem is with IE9, because IE9 also terminates when i use it, whereas no problem with mozilla firefox. so i decided the problem is with IE9 not flash player.
I searched how to remove IE9, i got a solution to downgrade IE9 to IE8, tried it.. finally i succeeded..
No problem with skype, yahoo messenger and IE* anymore. May be someone can give me a better idea. Why the hell happened to me.
Oops! got another problem IE8 can't play videos in youtube anymore. so what better i can do now?
God please help me.
post a new thread Muralimusic, your problem isn't a IE9 issue, it sounds more like a outdated codecs or infections. Please make a new topic describing your problem if you havent done so alreeady.
As for IE9 i use it. I like it and it works. I was a big fan of Firefox but it had those moments where "Please terminate firefox in order to launch firefox even though it was close but the process was still running for some reason." Anyways got tired of having to terminating the task all the time and left. IE9 works
