    MSGTAG and VirginMedia.com Emails

I use Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 for Emails using a POP3 account. I wish to use MSTAG plus (the paid for version) to tag Emails. This worked fine when I was using the old blueyonder.co.uk Email - but which no longer works now that Blueyonder.co.uk has been replaced by virginmedia.com which is now hosted by Google.

The MSGTAG set up program goes through the motions and reports that it is correctly set up -but tagged message do not get sent.

I have Emailed MSTAG 3 times for support - but have not received a reply.

Has anyone here got a virginmedia.com Email POP3 account working with MSGTAG - if so - what's the secret.

    Hi,

This might not be the answer you're looking for but, I can confirm it works very similar to MSGTAG.

Within Outlook you can set the options to automatically request both a Delivery Receipt and a Read Receipt upon sending mail. (File > Options > Tracking)

You can also choose these option manually when sending mail by clicking the Options button on the ribbon.

Once the sent mail has been read by the recipient you will recieve a notification stating that the mail has been read.

       Note
The recipient recieves a notification stating that a read receipt has been requested and they get the option to choose yes or no to sending

Thank you for going to the trouble of providing the above information.

However - I am already using it as a temporary substitute for MSGTAG until I get it working. The problem is that many recipients fail to respond and it is therefore less reliable than MSGTAG. It is of course their choice.
