    IE8 Fav ordering

I have IE8, Win7 X64. When I add to my favorites, rename it, click sort by name, it closes quite rudely I might add.
Is there a way to keep it open after sorting?

Probably not as it just like selecting one of them to load. if you want to sort your favorites, you can do it under users\username and then sort it as you wish. I belive that the favorites is just a data base and changing it's sort order is not the same as sorting a directory listing under windows explorer.
    YMMV

Nope, sorry mate. It just closes as you have seen, but it does at least sort it....

To view and sort previoulsly added favorites, I use the Favorites folder in Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).

I too have found that for most Favorites functions, dealing with the Favorites folder is much easier and more managable from Windows Explorer than IE, but I don't have the "Sort By Name" option in Windows Explorer's Favorites folder. Am I missing something?

First set the view option for the Explorer Window to "Details". Make sure there is a column header called "Name", if not, add it. When you click on the column header it will sort by name, and click again to sort by name in the opposite direction. To find the latest entry, you may want to add and sort by modified date instead.
