Windows 7: Some questions from a new IE9 user:

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit

Ive just installed IE9 having been rather apprehensive as IE8's layout suited me just right and had read reports of the rather bleak desktop in IE9.

If you rt Click a blank area at the top of IE 9's window, then select Menu Bar, Command Bar, Status Bar and Show Tabs on a separate row, you will find that IE9 is almost like IE8 barring a few cosmetic changes.

Then when you start to type an address in the URL box, in the box that opens beneath there is a section "History" and below that "Turn on or Turn off Safe search" If you turn this on it will offer up suggestions as you type.

I'm impressed with the speed of IE9 and find the layout OK now I've tweaked it. The only thing I don't like as much are the sharp corners on the tabs and boxes, preferred the more rounded look of IE8, but that is not something that would make me go back.

Is there any way to repeat your search query without constantly having to retype it into the address bar each time? In IE8 the last search query always remained in the separate search box making it easy to repeat the search, even in another tab. Searching from the address bar is driving me crazy, especially since I find myself retyping the same searches over and over again.

Is there any way to put Favorites back in the upper left corner where it belongs? Having it in the upper right corner is incredibly counterintuitive.

Is there an option to display a progress bar so you can see whether a site is loading slowly or not at all?

So far I'm regretting my decision to upgrade from IE8, but hopefully if I can solve the above issues I might start to appreciate it more.
I miss that feature, but I guess I can live with out it.
