    ie7 & ie6 standalone installs from that site Tredosoft both wouldn't load..and i think may have broke my IE8 now...it wont open anymore

    and the 2nd link you put above was what i was thinking, the virtual pc w/ XP

    also came across this, My DebugBar | IETester / HomePage
    i'm not using it for what its intended for but it loaded however pop ups dont work =( the site thinks im runnig a pop up blocker

    i want to thank everyone for their help, however i think this is a lost cause.

    Do a system restore to go back to a time before the install, I tried the stand alone install as well and I had the same problem plus I lost the control panel and I couldn't open computer properties, so you will need to find system restore in the start menu, sorry I didn't post the results earlier I forgot all about it.

    Windows 7 working with IE7 (running virtually in the native OS) and IE8

    Downlaoad Windows Virtual PC Beta + Windows XP Mode Beta
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/vir.../download.aspx

    Install both on Windows 7

    Download IE Collection
    Final Builds Site - Internet Explorer Collection

    Install IECollection on windows XP virtual

    Under Start>All Programs>Windows Virtual PC>Windows XP Virtual Applications will appear a shortcut to IEcollection to run your IE7.

    TOO EASY!
