Hey, I'm not sure that this topic is getting all that much attention. After all, the last post (other than yours) was over a month and a half ago. I had forgotten that I was even subscribed to it. Your best bet would probably be to begin a new thread.

I only found this thread (and site) from a bing.com search based on this problem of about:tabs losing my most popular sites. I think it would be a good idea to keep this thread active for others who are searching for a soution.

In the meantime, I have Iolo System Mechanic installed and I disabled all "Automated Tasks". I suspect one of the clean-up routines may be impacting the functionality of the IE9 about:tabs favorites feature. However, I don't have evidence at the moment this is the root cause.
