Norton released Hot Fix for FF4.0 Toolbar

Norton has released a Hot Fix for FF4.0 Toolbar and is available here.

Firefox 4 compatibility hotfix is now available - Norton Community

Identity Safe now works. I can now switch to FF4.0.

It looks like the Hot Fix has a bug. On a few sites some of the Login or Password fields are not populated. It also affect IE9 and FF 3.5.16. A couple of people have reported the the same problem.

I don't have the Identity Safe set up, but so far Safe Web is working fine and no problems here.

Interesting, the last article I read about a week or 2 ago said that Norton would not have a fix out until May or possibly later, but apparently due to the high number of gripes in their forum and the large numbers of people that d/l ed Firefox 4, they got it out early.

Yes. Toolbars are handy to use. I like the Identity Safe on the Norton Tool bar to store my Logins and Passwords and it will populate the web sites. That way I can use better passwords that are hard to remember.

FF 4.0.1 update released and NIS Toolbar is not compatible. The work around is to go to C:/Program Data/Norton/(xxxxxxxxxxx)/NIS 18.5.0.125/coFFPlgn and modify install.rdf using Notepad and change the maxVersion to a higher number. I changed mine to 5.

But you need to turn off Norton Product Tamper Protection to write the file back.
