Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80072EFE

For quite a long time now, I've been unable to sync my email via Windows Live Mail. Everytime I try to send and receive, I get this error message, so I have to go and use a browser to read my mail which is really annoying. I tried googling the problem, the only solution I found was to due a registry scan + fix, which I did with Auslogics, but it's not fixed it. All the other problems I found were slightly different to mind and were usually unsolved.

Full error message (email censored):

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (XXXX) account.

Server Error: 0x80072EFE
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'

I'm dealing with the same error here.
Do you have a e-mail with an attachment in your outbox?
I believe MS will force us to create a live mail account.

I don't have any emails in my outbox. What's the difference between a hotmail and live mail account?

The difference is Live Mail.
If attaching only photo's Live Mail will only login to a Live Mail account and put a link in your e-mail to where they put your photo on their servers...something like sky photo is what they call it. This happens even though you may not have a Live Mail account. Time for me to start reccommending ThunderBird. You may be able to circuvent this behavior by attaching a small text file at the same time as you arrach the photo.

Maybe we do have different challenges but I did get your message when trying to use a mobile SMTP server on the Charter (cable modem) network here in the States.
