    Firefox loads in middle of display screen.

    FF 3.5 worked correct. I updated to newer one and now all pages in FF load in the middle of the screen and I have to re-size the pages to fit my 40 in. screen ever time I go to another page. I haven't changed any settings yet but I have looked. Font size settings is the same in FF as it was before. Other things load correctly on my screen. So far the only thing I have changed is updating Firefox. This is going to make crazier.

    I usually click with the right mouse button on the taskbar and "show windows stacked"or "show windows side by side. " But I do it when the window to be maximized is the only one open. Ah, you must right click in the desktop and "update" to keep the change. :)

    Just tried that Mike, still loads in the middle of the screen. Full screen, max. or min. It still loads in the middle of the screen and I have to keep scroling the mouse to get it to fit the screen. I'm using I.E.9 as I type and I don't have the problem here. I went from 3.5 to 3.6. A while back I tried FF 4.0 and it did the same thin, that's why I went back to 3.5.
    Let me try to do a better job. The max. will cover the whole screen but the pages I go to are set in the middle of the screen.

    That is mainly a problem with the websites. Not many support wide screen defaults. Apparently IE9 does some "jiggery-pokery" on this, but it is not standards compliant, and does not always work.

    If you use Firefox, then this add-on is essential;

    https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/nosquint/

    It will let you zoom and also remembers the site settings.

    It can't change widescreen defaults on websites of course.

    Mozilla 3.5.7 works quiet well on my screen. I thought when I updated to a newer one it would save all my settings. I though wrong.
    Thanks for all your help!!!!

    A little update. I could not get Mikes suggestion to work in FF 3.6 at all so I downloaded 4.0 and it works just fine on 4.0. Why that is I don't know. Thanks Mike.

    My pleasure.

    It appears that once some add-ons are updated, they are not always backward compatible to other Firefox versions. Also, some older add-ons wont work on the newer versions. They can also not be "forced" to work if they do something which the new version does not support.

    If you have a lot of sites which only display in the middle of your screen, a lot of WordPress blogs and similar do this, then you might as well only use half the screen to display them.

    Thanks. I understand that some sites are like that. I don't find many. I'm happy that the sites I go to often work as they did in FF 3.5. I use very few add on's. I really like the one that put a little flag (upper right) that tell what country the web page is coming from. Of course add blocker is at the top of my list. Other than the one you showed me all the others transferred over with no problems. To be fare to I.E. which I complained about. Make FF quicker, safer and work smother means improvement. Changing the tool bar dings and dongs is change not a improvement.
    Note! I would like you to know that I do investigate these things but I don't always find them. Thanks for your help.
