Search engine searches redirecting to spam website?

    Hi,
About 6 months ago, I clicked on a google link and it redirected me to either [link removed] or [link removed] (or something like that). These sites would then redirect me to a random advertisement. I switched to Bing, thinking it was Googles fault but the 'virus' is still there on Bing. Does anyone know any fixes?

    Thanks.

You need to run a full scan with superantispyware SUPERAntiSpyware.com | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware! and Malwarebytes Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download. Along with your anti-virus software. If you don't have anti-virus software installed. Get Microsoft Security Essentials. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/secu...s/default.aspx

This will take some time, but I think you will find your problem. Make sure you scan with all three programs as sometimes one will miss what another one catches.

Awesome. I'm using Trend Micro, is that sufficient?

You can try it along with superantispyware and malwarebytes.

I have not heard the best reviews on Trend Micro lately but give it a shot, just make sure you run the other two programs.

You would do better by starting a new thread in the security section detailing your issue, one of our malware experts should then be able to point you in the right direction to fixing this.
