    IE9 64 Bit won't install in 64 Bit W2008 Server R2

    Hi there
    Even though I'm running W2008 server R2 64 bit I can't install the 64 Bit version of IE9.

IE9 that gets installed via Windows update appears to be the 32 bit version -- it's in the X-86 library --

If I try and do a separate download I get a message SETUP cannot continue because you have a more recent version of IE9 installed.

The IE8 version it replaced had both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Have MS given up on IE9 64 bit for W2008 server.

    Cheers

Just checked and our home server has both 32 and 64 bit version of IE9 on Server 2008 R2.

Have you tried something like CCLeaner?

    Direct download:
Download Internet Explorer 9 - Microsoft Windows
