Outlook 2000 and Windows Live Mail

I had Outlook 2K on my old compute(which died on me) and now I have Windows 7 x64 and I would like to import the information from my old hard drive containing my Outlook 2000 information into Windows Live 2011. Can I do this? If so how? I have the old hard drive installed in an external enclosure. Thanks to all who respond.

I don't think you can do it directly from Outlook 2000 as there are compatibility issues.

However, you could import your Outlook 2000 profile into Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007, and then transfer it to Windows Live Mail.

transfer outlook 2000 email to windows live mail on new computer

However, you may be able to do it if you transfer as a .csv file and not a .pst one.

I think his problem is all he has to work with is the .pst file on an external drive and no program to run that could read or export it. However the reply in your third link does address this issue:
"Google for "read pst" and you should find applications which can read pst files and export the data from them. You can then import the data to Windows Live Mail. An alternative is to install a trial version of Outlook 2010, export the data and then uninstall the trial."

Thanks to all who replied on my Outlook 2000 to Windows Live Mail(WLM). I downloaded and set up WLM now all I have to do is figure out how to get the info off the old hard drive(it's in an enclosure) unto WLM. I read somewhere, probably in this forum, that I could install the 'trial' version of Outlook 2010, copy the 'pst' file into that, then import the info into WLM. Is this the way to do it? I hope so. Any more help is appreciated.
