Ok mate will try that but as I will have to send via this machine it might take a while to type out what it says but I'll try.

Now I am going to sound like a real no brainer but where the heck do I find "sync" in WLM - I have Googled to see and it refers to the drop down box with New Save etc in it but cannot find the sync reference you speak of.

Strange thing is that I get a MS Office Mail box with all the messages in pop up at times (cmae bundled with my Toshiba and want me to put in my activation code and I am getting so tempted to just go and buy this product to save all of you others and myself non stop hassle with WLM Its go to worth the $200??
I have been suspecting that we are not talking about the same thing.
A lot of people are confusing the difference of WLM which stands of Windows Live Mail, and Windows Live Hotmail.
To clarify my suspision, please open your " WLM " and tell me which one of the following 2 screenshots resembles your " WLM ".......

    RE : Microsoft Office
Your computer has a pre-installed trial version of Microsoft Office suites. It must have been expired ( good only for 60 days or so ). It is asking you to pay for the full version in order to activate and continue to use the programs.
There are many versions of Microsoft Office suites, each with different price tag.
I don't know which one you are referring to.
Some of the MS Office versions have an e-mail program called Microsoft Outlook included.
Even with the MS Outlook, you still have to configure and set up an account into Outlook. It is not automatic.

Mate I have just tried another account again and deleted the original one and used my ISP providers password and it works on that machine now.

The other machines are working to and from the new install so maybe after all that I just needed to set the second account as the first one had been disrupted or something. The only two things I have to do now is ad my contacts to the new account and switch off the WLM and back on again before it will download messages - but it's always done that!

Look everyone I am sorry for taking up so much of your time but it was and is always a problem area for me when I've had to do rebuilds etc

All help so very much appreciated you are all such a great bunch of people and this id a great forum.

    I am sorry.
You have succeeded in confusing me beyond comprehension.

    Sorry t=4-2

Look sorry mate it is Windows Live Mail shot #1.

Now what I meant was I created a second account thinking it would use the old password from the other machines.

But it didn't / wouldn't so found my ISP - Bigpond Australia account password entered it into the second account password field.

Deleted the first account and the second one came on line straight way with the last 84 messages - including the test ones I'd been sending - though minus my contact list, blocked and allowed senders list/s etc.

Look mate I admit to and am known to be a tad ambiguous at times and I am really sorry that I wasted your time, and it must have been trying your patience for which you have my most since appreciation (and apologies).

I can only put it down to getting so frustrated with these things at times - and I grovel most humbly at your feet for forgiveness

So, you do have Windows Live Mail.

Sync is at the top left. Please look at my #1 screenshot.

Sync = send and receive , generally speaking.
Sometimes you want to know if you have mails and couldn't wait for the notification alert. You could then click Sync and WLM will go check for mails from your Bigpond, and download them if there are any.

Glad to know you have a working e-mail account without issues.

I am not sure what to do with your missing contact list.Perhpas some Mial expert will come along and help out.

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Oh ! I am sorry. I overlooked one point.

You are using 2011 WLM version.
I am using 2009 WLM version.

There is no Sync option in 2011 version. It is reverted back to Send and Receive.
If you click the blue button at top left of WLM, you should see Send and Receive option.

    Hiyya t-4-2

Hey mate between us I think we are making a real circus out of our messages he he - me being totally doolally tat and you gettin a bit confused with versions lolzzzz

Now the blue button doesn't have send/receive anymore (in mine anyway) it's in the Home bar lolzzzz I reckon we'd make a good double act don't you??lolzzz again here's what I have now for send / receive.

In the blue button it has (can't get a snip) it has Import messages and Export messages both which display a window that has the options of sites apps to where or what to send the message to or from. Hard to explain but it goes on into a wizard to I don't know - probably configure whatever it is you want but as it's working fine now I don't need those options.

I only use the blue button for safety options and adding blocked senders.

Still you've got to laugh eh if get too serious I mean life's too short eh.
Anyway at least you didn't let it go - must be a bit of a Jack Russell like me - bite it and heaven help anything that tries to get away lolzzzz!!
    Whew!!
