Can't open links with Windows 7

I can't get many links to open. If there is a link in an email, it won't open, I just get a blank screen. This also occurs if I am on a web page with a link and this fails also. I do not get any kind of an error message. I get no indication that anything is happening, as an example in the header I do not see the little working donut going around and around. If I get a link in email, I copy it and insert in the RUN box on the desktop. If I paste it in the header of the page, it still does not work.

Any help would sure be appreciated!!

Welcome to the Seven Forums, Jack1933. Have you tried opening links or using the address bar in any web browsers other than Internet Explorer? If not, then I suggest that you try setting Firefox or Chrome as your default browser and trying again.

    Hope this helps.

    Suggestion :
Check your Internet Explorer or your main browser. Make sure it has all its defaults.

Start > Default |Programs > Set Your Default Programs > left column, select your main browser. Does it say " this program has all its defaults " ?
If no, click Choose defaults for this program > chekmark all entries under the list > click Save when done.

While you are there, check the same to your e-mail client.

Changed to Firefox and it cleared up the problem. Funny, because a 2nd machine right alongside this one and I have no problem at all!

This may work. Resets IE to default settings. Use steps 1-3.
Click here> Internet Explorer - Reset

Cannot open hyperlinks, get blank screen

I went to programs and clicked on Internet explorer (64bit). I pinned that to my start toolbar and use that. Now it works for me.
