    WLM In Windows7 / Vista

Last yeat I was able to get WLM working just fine in Windows 7 (with a bit of help here) What I ended up with was a Windows Live Mail Page holding three accounts including Gmail. I acess Hotmail from a seperate Icon on the destop. All is good.

I am trying to mirror this in Vista home. The Hotmail account came right up as I signed in with my Live user/password. What I am having trouble with is setting up the second page holding my three main accounts. I tried getting in by using Sign In, but it reverts back to the hotmail page (co110.co110.mail.live.com/default.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0

I thought that it would be simple, but not for me at this point. Pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. should have better luck in here as windows 7 is my referrence!!!

Just to be clear, are you using the WLM program that is part of the downloadable suite called "Windows Live Essentials" or are you going to the Hotmail website via your web browser? In either case it is possible to set up multiple accounts from different email service providers. The server access information for each account should be the same no matter how it is accessed.

I downloaded the Suite and installed it (mail only) after I got hotmail working. I enjoy what I have on the Windows 7 machine. I would like to have hotmail separate from the other accounts. I don't even see hotmail on the page with the other accounts, and yet I get into both with the same address.

If you set things up the same in Vista as you did in 7, they should work the same. The only possible difference I can think of is that Vista has a built-in mail program (WIndows Mail) so you have to make sure you set WLM as the default email program in Vista.

Here is what I figured out; just didn't pick up on it. When I access HOTMAIL, it comes up in an explorer 9 page. At the top it does say that it is Windows Live for Hotmail. When I bring up Windows Live Mail from the Start Menu, it comes up as a PROGRAM so it is a separate thing. Anyway, all is well now in Vista-land land, and I guess that if I want to, I could bring up Hotmail in the PROGRAM rather that the web-page. Thanks for input?????
