IE9 how do I add Google Search Provider

Problem is when I go to Internet Explorer Gallery Add-ons there are a whole bunch of useless search providers for example tesco.com ? if I horizontally scroll across the screen to the far right I can find the Google accelerator in among the browsers beginning with S & install that & have the option to make this the default for this accelerator category which is not the search one ?
How are you supposed to use this Google search accelerator I haven't a clue ?
I'm sure there used to be a Google Search in the Gallery add ons.
Hate that horizontally scrolling in the gallery add ons its hard to control the speed making it hard to find the one you want, maybe its by design & they hope you become frustrated & just keep the Bing default.

I think this is what you want
Beginner: Add Google as Your Search Provider in Internet Explorer 9 - How-To Geek
This sounds very close to what you have tried, but seems to be what I did and it worked. Unfortunately the server is busy and it is impossible to test how to add at the present moment.

Thanks for trying to help, I was able to change my search to Ask & I already knew about how to get to the add on gallery from the address bar.
I think Server is busy means that the site is down because they realize they have a problem, Microsoft aren't my favorite company but I find it hard to believe they would exclude Google Search on purpose, make it difficult & overly complicated yes they have always done that.
I've still no idea what the Google accelerator is supposed to do I have it enabled ?

Reason I prefer the Google search to Bing is the Google search by time, Bing have recently added search by time but its limited to only 1 month

I was able to get into the site. I tried again, the trick is bottom right, you must select search provider with the drop down menu , then scroll and select Google.

You are required to scroll down to the select search provider. That is how they make it difficult.

All you have to do is go to your Search providers in Manage addons, click on find search providers, find google - install - set as default.

Then when you want to search something, just put the query in your address bar and click on the forward arrow or hit Enter and it'll search with the google search provider. Doesn't have a separate search field anymore like IE8. All done in the address bar.

Gave up on using IE9 to solve the problem. Searched my problem with Google & found a helpful comment pointing me to the US IE add-ons site
Internet Explorer Gallery & was able to add the Google search from there.
The UK Internet Explorer add-ons when you clicked the search tab served up a mixture of search providers & accelerators
The US version was better as it was just search providers & actually had a couple of useful alternatives like

Thanks Airbot & Rich46 that drop down list under the thumbnails helps on the UK site to restrict it to Search Providers my bad for expecting clicking on the search link above the thumbnails would do that lol.
Problem is the UK site theres no Google Search listed.
Anyway I've got it working now. :)

Still puzzled over the Google accelerator selecting text on the page it doesn't show on the right click context menu ?

why is this so God Damn hard?

I'm about to hurl my laptop out of the window with this utterly ridiculous restrained rubbish.

As you can tell I'm completely frustrated by this, every time I format my computer I have to do this and it's all because MS refuse to list Google in the UK search providers directory.

Unacceptable - I would remove IE completely if I could, unfortuantely I'm chained to it due to our DMS which refuses to work on anything other than IE.

This whole convoluted process just isn't necessary! How is anyone who isn't either tech savvy enough or exasperated enough to search high and low for a solution expected to get back their preferred search??

and no, '789 search' and the other god-awful search engines won't do.
