Windows 7: Browsers can't connect

Browsers can't connect

I have having recurring issues with either my browser or my network. Whenever I go to load a page, it tells me the dns cannot be found, which is strange because vuze and xbox live still work fine.

I have this issue with any browser I've tried (IE, FF, GC; all most recent as far as I'm aware). I've tried restarting my router, adjusting the connection settings, winsock reset, reconnecting, and none of it seems to help.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Edit: I should mention that before last night everything was working fine. I had this issue about a week or two ago when I got my netbook, but don't recall how it was solved.. It was kind of accidentally fixed.

Welcome to Seven Forums Kevo0731. Try this if you haven't:

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator> In command prompt type:

ipconfig /flushdns

Then go to Start> In search box type

view network connections

Right click on your default connection (usually Local Area Connection or Dial-up Connection if you are using Dial-up), and and choose Properties

Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is checked> OK your way out and reboot. See if this helps.

Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item.
Select the radio button that says "Obtain DNS servers automatically".
Click OK twice to get out of the properties screen and restart your computer.
