    Distorted images in browser(s)

Recently only some jpegs online have become distorted in my browsers. I have yet to check IE9, but this is happening in firefox and chrome. As you can see, saving the image from the browser retains its distortion. Refreshing does not fix this. Clearing cookies and cache can alter the distortion. I'm quite worried due to this happening in multiple browsers. Could this be a graphics card problem? What's causing this and how can it be fixed?

I have no idea how to begin troubleshooting this.
Let me know if you can see the attached image.

    kaidance,

    Welcome to sevenforums.

Do you recall what software you installed and ever thereafter you had this problem?

One alternative is to restore your system to a point in time before this problem surfaced.

RESTORE TO A PREVIOUS SYSTEM RESTORE POINT

    WIN | type SYSTEM RESTORE |ENTER | NEXT |
check Show more restore points (lower left)|
Highlight the desired restore point |
Scan for affected programs (lower right) |
make a note of affected programs |
    CLOSE | NEXT | FINISH

WIN is the key with the wavy Microsoft flag on top.

    Thanks for the reply.

Assuming I go back far enough, I suppose this should fix the problem.

However, I'd like to identify the problem first.

Any ideas on how to go about doing so?

No way I could guess what you have done.

When you do the system restore, you can see what programs will be altered and that may give you a clue.

I have a system suffering from this too; I have two computers with relatively the same setup and software yet one has started displaying this behavior in Firefox and Chrome, the other behavior is slow loading pages or if the page is composed of php the page will load html/php syntax instead of the actual called information. IE is just running slow or wont load the pages.

At first I considered it the nVidia drivers as that was something I had updated, yet after removing them completely the issue is still present and the other system doesn't have this issue with the same drivers.

The second is Adobe Flash, on the working system it is running Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX 10.3.181.26 and Plugin version 10.0.2.54, on the problematic system it is running the same ActiveX version, but its Plugin version is newer.

I removed adobe flash all together, but the issue still persists. System restore will not work as it only has that last two days and nothing was installed during those periods and this issue is older then that.

There is very little software installed on this system as it is a clean install. I'm still leaning towards something with Flash as some of the video clip previews on sites are distorted like the image posted here.

I've reformatted my computer back to factory spec and am still having these issues. The browser also fails to render some html or even CSS from time to time. I really am not sure what is going on or what to do.
