problems with Google Chrome on my laptop

I've had some problems with Google Chrome on my laptop.

I am running a copy of GC from my thumbdrive with no problem and have a copy of GC on my C: as well.

Problem is that the C: copy very often will not open...click...nothing...click...nothing. It doesn't matter if I have the thumbdrive version running or not. I have to uninstall the C: version, reinstall, and then it's fine for a short while...it even picks my bookmarks right back up as well.

Any ideas...getting tired of the uninstall/reinstall game.

    Thanks.

Is the C: instance a portable version? I've found it better all around to use Chromium portable snapshots:

    Index of /f/chromium/snapshots/Win

download the .zip rather than the installer.

If you're wondering, every chrome extension I've tried has worked in Chromium. Then again I only run a few. But I haven't run into any that refuse to install or anything of that nature.

I'm a big fan of portable browsers as well I use the Opera portable. I just downloaded The Chromium 15.0.841.0 (Developer Build 94996 Windows) about 30 minutes ago.
About the only drawback a portable browser has is that you cannot set it as the default browser.

Mine is set as default. I use it as my main browser. Of course it's in a folder in C: not on a USB key. :)
