And when things look the same, and feel the same, how wrong it would be to call it a minor update! March onwards in the name of major updates with little change!
True! It's awkward .. FF 6 shouldn't have been anything more than 4.1. Just installed FF 7.0 b1 .."feels" faster or maybe it's placebo .. dunno! Dreading V8 because they're removing the search box afaik!

I have new tab homepage working just fine using Aurora FF7.0a2 here with an edit.

You'll like this one - looks like they'll bring back URL customizing in the new tab in Firefox 9. "New Tab Page". No more need for that addon. Be nice if it follows through to the release of it.

    that would be good
    i look forward to it

If there is little change with FF6, I might as well skip it and wait for the allegedly faster FF7. I really don't want to deal with incompatible addons every few months.

I want separate address bar and search box, because it is clear in my head I'm searching history/bookmarks in address bar, and searching new stuff in the search box. It is quicker to find what you want because results are more focused. If FF8 is really going to remove search box, it will be the last straw.

Am I the only one in thinking mozilla thinks it is no longer the upstart, we no longer have to listen to users as before.

    I lost three add-ons with FF6.
How many more will I lose with FF7?

Are you sure that they can`t work? May be its time to learn how to cheat compatibility protection.

If you find some say they're incompatible in FF 6, there are ways to get around it and usually still work just fine, if you were so inclined to. At least until your addon devs put out updates for them.

Hmmmmm, if they are going to get rid of the version number they should just install any old AddOn. The AddOn should have a Boolean value. Latest = True or False. Of course as each one comes out Latest will always be True. So why worry? Just stick it in there!
