Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Windows 8 Pro

Sometimes these extra plugins can be more harmful than you expect it, try to run FF without it and see if it helps.

I'm not a techie, but could it be that browsers aren't taking dial up into consideration any more, resulting in ultra slow access? My new computer didn't even come with a dial up modem. What if you considered broadband if available?

Windows 7 Home

Found a solution on day 14.

Here are some notes:

If you change from an antivirus program that has a firewall to one that doesn't, make sure you allow IE and Firefox with the Windows 7 firewall. When creating a new folder to download to, don't create it in the existing Downloads folder. Turn off windows defender when downloading. I did all of that and stopped getting the error message "Source file can not be read". I still can not download Mozilla Firefox 5.1 or AVG Free from CNet or FileHippo but was able to from - Download Freeware and Shareware Computer Utilities.. Life is better again. STAY AWAY FROM MOZILLA FIREFOX 6!
