    IE9 Has Been Replaced By Chrome (Maybe) - Can't Reinstall or Remove

    In a real quandary ... IE9 seems to have been replaced by Chrome. Sounds weird (impossible?) but when IE9 is launched (from either Prog Files or Prog Files(x86)) here's what I see:
    IE9 Has Been Replaced By Chrome (Maybe) - Can't Reinstall or Remove-notie9.png

    Tried to uninstall IE9, but it's not listed in the 'installed programs'. (Neither is Chrome)

    Downloaded IE9 from MS
    [Firefox 5 is my default browser ... don't use IE but I'm working on a hardware/monitor/printing prob - New Widescreen Monitor - Smaller Font Printed With WL Mail and was advised to set something in IE]

    but when attempted to install, got:

    What to do ?????

    I'm confused, that looks like IE9. Chrome doesn't look like that. It looks like you accidently turned on the developers tool. Just hit settings and uncheck it or while in IE9 just hit the F12 key.

    OK - launched "ie9" and went to 'tools'. Turned off Developer Tools and program went away - not displayed - not in task bar - not in Task Mgr (in Applications or in Processes). {Dev Tool was probably turned on because when I first encountered this problem I had pushed F12 and F11 hoping that something was hidden like in Fx.}

    Confused here too. If it looks like IE9 then is should be IE9, but then why is IE9 not on the 'installed list'?

    Yes - Windows Internet Explorer 9 shows up in the 'updates list' - and it was installed on 4/711 ... I've used it since then (but not much).

    Can I uninstall it from there - then reinstall it using the file I download from MS a while ago?

    Uninstalled from Win Updt list and reinstalled from MS file - IE9 now seems to work correctly .... it still doesn't show up in the 'uninstall list' but does show up in the 'All Programs' list (from Win Start key) and in the Win Updt list. Why is that?

    After this last question, this Post is resolved.
