Windows mail or equal to win7?`

So I have a little problem... When I used xp, I had outlook express. When I used vista, I had updated version of it, "windows mail".

Now I can't have windows mail or any updated version of it to win7? I've heard that MS stopped supporting windows mail / outlook after they released their windows live mail thing.

But the problem is that now I have about 4000 e-mails on my vista's hard drive in .eml form and I can't export them back to my email hoster's server where windows mail used to import letters..

so, what programs are compatible with .eml in windows 7?

Or is it possible to have same old outlook express or windows mail back to windows 7 or do I have to stick with vista forever?

OUtlook morphed into windows mail, and winmail to "windows Live Mail" WLM will open an eml file (just checked to be sure) and I think you will like it more than winmaill. Its free from MS and part of the essentials pack. To be safe if I were you I would try opening and importing a few first.
You can get it here http://download.live.com/

    Hi Mikkou

I tried using Thunderbird for a while but found it was a real pain importing emails and contacts from my old windows mail folder in vista. Now using Windows Live mail, the layout is slightly different to Vistamail but easy to get used to and can import .eml files directly, preserving the directory structure too (it parks them under a new folder in "Storage Folders" which is a bit of a pain but easy to move them elsewhere).

No problem. Are you trying to sync win 7 mail and vista mail? or are you just trying to migrate to win 7?
