    Firefox won't bookmark some sites/links


    I sometimes have a problem where I try to bookmark a specific page in Firefox, but it won't add it to my bookmark list. It's extremely URL-specific, for example, one particular video on Vimeo won't add in Firefox, but other videos on the same site, with the same URL style, will. No problem adding the "problem" bookmarks as favorites in IE8.

    Why is Firefox so finicky about refusing to add some sites to the bookmark list and is there a workaround?

    This is on Win7x64. It's an older Firefox version (3.5.19), but not ancient.

    You really should update your Firefox...there have been tons of security patches since 3.5.19. Besides, that bug you're experiencing might long have been fixed (this has never happened to me anyway).

    not all add ons will work with the latest updated firefox so it is a good idea to install the "add on compatability reporter" add on, this should make them continue to work.

    i have to say i never had the bookmark issue even way back then with ff 3.5

    Firefox v3.5.19 has experienced known bugs so it would be best to update to a newer version of Firefox. Not necessarily the latest v7.0, but at least past v4.0

    Would you also mind linking that video? I'd just like to see if I can bookmark it on my Firefox. Though it's unlikely, it could be the page as it's shown specifically on Firefox.
