How can I get back Windows Mail?

I purchased a new PC about a month ago with Windows 7. I had Vista with Windows Mail and found both pretty decent. Now, I think I am upgrading, but Live Mail is absolutely the worse email system I have ever used.

When I click on a new message it takes about a minute before it will open. I get the message "unable to open". Also when I want to send an email it will not bring my contact names? Just absolutely terrible.

Is there someway I can download Windows Mail?

Quite a few steps involved, but here's a tutorial on how to reinstate Windows Mail in Win 7,

Appreciate the link, but that is much too much for me to go through on a new PC. Wish I hadn't gone to Win7.

I honestly don't know how they thought LiveMail was an upgrade?

Yeah, I don't blame you. Win 7 is a great OS they just felt the need to remove a few things.

I like windows mail too. Everything gets updated eventually though. :)

Must be the way you have WLM setup or installed. Might be the mail server you use. I like it and it's snappy. I was using Outlook Express on XP. I have all my email accounts on Live Mail.

For reasons unknown to me, they got rid of Outlook Express.

After that happened, I briefly used both Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail.

Both were excruciating compared to OE.

I went to Thunderbird and have never looked back.
