Is there good reasons to run, or not to run "Java Runtime Environment".

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1

I have not had java installed for about 2yrs and I haven't missed a beat. Java is one of the most exploited pieces of software out there, and I see no reason to run it. Worst case, you stumble across a website that needs it and then you'll have to choose whether or not you want to install it.
