    windows live mail error 0x80070057

    Hi,

I normally scan my document directly to the WLM to send it. It was working fine previously but today it gave me the following error:

    An unknown error has occurred.
    Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80070057
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure(SSL): No

I've tried going offline, delete the file in the outbox then relaunch WLM and go online again but it didnt work. Whenever the scanner finished scanning, attaches the image of the scanned document on the email and it activates the log on screen for Windows Live Messeger as well.

Wonder if anyone has any solution to it. Thanks.

    Dave

This is hard to answer since the problem description leaves no answer other than something changed with your PC between "previously" and "today". You need to expiriment with other ways to send the image using WLM to see what works and what doesn't work. For example, signed-in or not, as attachment, insert inline, send a page by email using your browser. You can also repair Windows Live Essentials, or reset your default programs.

Loganberry, change port 25 in your accounts advanced tab to 587 or 465.
