    Simplifying Windows Live Mail

    1. How can I get rid of the "Unread Email" part of WLM so my incoming mail will simply appear in my inbox?

    2. How can I alter WLM so that I can load an email address with one click instead of
the 3-click method that WLM imposes on its helpless victims?

    Thanks, Don.

In the 2009 version there is a Layout/Folder Pane section with check boxes for some items like showing "Quick Views" or "Storage Folders"; but it doesn't even have an unread email section.

A couple of screenshots of the helpful answer offered by roncerr:

Open WLM and select the 'View' tab.
Toggle 'Quick view' on and off using this button:

With it on, click on this button to see other Quick view options:

The screenshots are of version 2011 (Build 15.4.3538.0513). Perhaps your own version is earlier than this?

Is there anyway to put her mail to 2009 (14.0.8117.0416)?

I'm not sure if there's a way to change to an earlier version. Maybe someone else can help there. Is there a reason for wanting to do that, rather than upgrade your own version to make it the same as your wife's?

    WLE 2009 web installer: http://g.live.com/1rewlive3/en/wlsetup-web.exe
    WLE 2011 web installer: http://g.live.com/1rewlive4-web/en/wlsetup-web.exe

Keep in mind that whichever version you choose, you can't mix the programs in the older group with those in the newer group. And if you choose the older version you can't use Messenger at all since that program requires an upgrade to WLMessenger 2011.

The wife wants her's like mine the 2009 version since it's much easier to use. Do I have to uninstall the 2011 version to install the 2009 version? If so is there steps to follow?
Nither one of us use anything but the email program itself. no messenger.
    Thanks
