    WLM damn thing

It may be a line slowness but I am and have been having non stop problems with sending pics and stuff like that through WLM.

Sends messages like TEST but anything else and you might as well whistle Dixie.

Have just set up a gmail account and the material went through straight away.

So what the hell is wrong with it I am constantly being asked to sign in and it always comes back as the wrong password and I have just about had a belly full of this wretched application.

So I might just edit my forum account with the gmail and ditch the M$ and VERY annoying mail app

Probably a good idea. WLM seems to need some work, judging by complaints on this forum. There are alternatives if you don't need the aggravation.

Signing in to WLM has nothing to do with the email address and password you use with your individual email accounts and the passwords for those accounts to send and receive email. Signing-in to WLM is only for the added features that MS provides via it's servers (Photo email, contacts backup, online calendar). The sign-in email/password combination refers to your LiveID, which you would use to login to Hotmail or your customized view of MSN.com. You would also use it to download Windows Live Essentials of which WLM is one component.

I find it useful to "sign-in" mainly to keep my contacts backed up at the "contacts.live.com" website. But it's optional. If you don't want to sign in, go to the "Connection tab" of "Options" and push the button "Stop Signing In".

    THanks Ron

Hey Thanks again Roncerr I thought it was the mail bit, I'll get onto that fix you gave me.

Problem is most days it works only with smaller type messages and other days damn thing won't go at all and anything that has photos for instance it just refuses to send them telling me that it timed out or something.
Plus I get my forum replies through it too which I find so handy.

Anyway I am trying gmail I don't like the "free" ones but a few years of WLM has got me grinding my teeth.

    Anyway thanks again

Gmail is not directly comparable to WLM. Gmail is an email service that can be accessed via a webite on your browser. So is Hotmail. WLM is a free program that runs on your computer (like the old Outlook Express on XP or currently, Thunderbird). (It may also be possible to access the Gmail service via a mail program using POP3 or IMAP). I'm still using the 2009 version of WLM which seems less buggy than 2011 but then I don't use Messenger. If I did I'd be forced to "upgrade" to the 2011 suite of Windows Live Essentials.
