    Internet explorer?


    I was tring to access Device Manager. I get a message that MMC will not work without IE. I use Firefox. I tried everything from the basic Program and Features looking for IE under the Windows Features and trying to install IE9 from the download. It keeps telling me that a more current version is installed.

    I am an advanced computer user, but this has me stumped. I hate to go through a reinstall, etc. My Restore points don't help.

    Failed 3 times. I get a 9C48 error message but I am unable to get any response.

I tried to update IE8 ro IE10 from the website and it says that the installation is installed and i reboot my laptop but when i click internet explorer its still IE8. I had IE9 awhile back but i had to revert back to IE8 because IE9 would only pop up for a second then close.
