How do I prevent IE pin from disappearing from taskbar?

I have pinned the internet explorer to my task bar. When I click on the IE pin on the task bar, it brings up an IE window, but the window covers the IE pin on the taskbar, and I cant open another one. How do I fix this?

Hello Cellslave, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like you may be in full screen (F11) mode in Internet Explorer. While IE is open, press F11 to toggle to not have it in full screen mode to see if that helps. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks for the suggestion but that didnt fix it.

I have also noticed that IE is not the only pinned button that disappears when I open it. I have the calculator, and another program pinned to the task bar, and when I open these programs, they disappear from the taskbar....but the other pinned items remain....unitl I open them, and then they disappear too.......

Ok I found a solution....I had to add a quick launch...then move the quick launch over to the left....then I added items to the quick launch instead of the task bar.

This isn't something to fix; it's a feature of Windows 7. The pinned icons expand into taskbar buttons whenever the corresponding application is started.

If you want to run another instance of the same application, all you need to do is rightclick the button and you'll get a small context menu, where the (usually) first option opens a new instance.

Or am I misunderstanding the description of your problem?

I'm happy to hear that you found a workaround. :)

Are the icons disappearing from the taskbar, or just being covered up along with the taskbar by the window?
