HELP - IE 8 Connection Conundrum

Hi all, just installed Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 today. Everything seemed to be working fine until I tried opening up IE 8 - "Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage". I tried opening up the 64-bit version of IE 8 - and here I am online just fine, posting on this forum. So IE 8 64-bit works just fine, but the install of IE 8 32-bit in my Program Files (x86) directory has decided I have no internet connectivity - and is telling that to all sorts of programs. Windows Live Mail won't sign in so have no e-mail...I can't install Windows Live Essentials to fix this since it thinks I'm not online...Digsby or Skype can't connect either. - Any ideas? Thanks!

Are your network card's drivers updated to the latest ones?

I8 Not working, but FF is

I had to install FF in order to browse the internet as I get the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" from every web page I go to.
I am running build 7000 and using the 32 bit version.

    I have no AV installed.

I do have the latest NIC drivers. What is odd is that FF works fine, but IE does not.

    Any ideas?

I've run into this too and can't get around it. When I originally unstalled the 7000 build I was able to connect over IE8, and quickly downloaded firefox. Within a half hour IE8 died, as did my live mesh client, while it was in the process of syncing with my live desktop. Similarly, gadgets that are designed to connect to the internet (weather, feeds, etc) also come back with no connection. I would imagine that at the nexus of these symptoms is the source of the problem. Simply put, I don't think that this is uniquely an IE8 problem, but something a bit deeper in the OS

    Preemptively:
Yes, I have the most up to date wireless drivers.
The problem persists whether I am wireless or wired.

    IE 8 unable to connect...

Yes, there is definitely something wrong with IE 8. I was forced to install firefox on Windows 7 64bit to gain access to the internet because both 32bit and 64bit versions of IE 8 just don't connect. I've tried resetting all the settings and repairing them, but nothing seems to work. I think maybe it has something to do with there being two IE's on one OS, idk.

Where can I uninstall IE, I looked under add/remove programs, updates, and services, but it's not there.

You can't uninstall IE8 nor can you install IE7, Have you tried a system Restore or a repair of any sort like opening advanced Command Prompt and typing "sfc /scannow"

    Fixed ie 8 unconnectivity problem

    FIXED IE 8 UNCONNECTIVITY PROBLEM

I have had the same problem trying te get IE 8 to connect to the internet, so, after troubleshooting a java installation problem, I discovered why IE 8 wasn't connecting and I have solved the problem [for me at least].

1.Enable proxy settings in Internet Options
Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings > Click the box "Use a proxy Server for your LAN..."

I don't know if this is the cause of the problem or even if this is a permanent fix.
Also, It puzzles me why IE 8 worked fine when Windows 7 first Installed.
    Hope this helps.
