Programs list looks pretty clean. I'd uninstall all that Roxio crapware myself, if you don't put it to good use and I can't think of that would be unless it makes labels for CD's.

And I'd get rid of Yahoo Updater since you have no installed Yahoo programs, and Updaters are almost always spyware.

You need Adobe, Shockwave, Silverlight, Java.

What do you do with MS Office, Garmin and Windows Photo Viewer within a browser? These are unnecessary bloatware unless you specifically need them for a function within the browser, and they will prompt you if you do.

Patti, you are going to get confused with multiple threads open: https://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-...roblems-2.html

Because different people will tell you completely different things at times, while trying to help you with your problem.

And as Greg has told you, keep adobe and the others he mentioned enabled, but do disable the others, they won't effect you at all, because it is inside of firefox, and you don't use them there. The only one you might use are garmin GPS and Live Photo, but I don't think you actually do. Do you use the garmin website or upload photos via live photo? I am 95% sure you don't. The programs on your computer are very different than the ones on your firefox

:) We won't lead you astray, I promise we know what we are doing. We won't have you remove stuff just because we don't like the program, but for good reasons.

And if suddenly you can't do something, tell us! We will fix it!

I user Windows Photo Viewer a lot. I guess I can just enable Garmin when I upload maps. I know there are a lot of friends. I couldn't get a response on Yahoo, didn't know what to do. I will disable what I was told. Will I still be able to use my copier?

Gregrocker - I wasn't ignorming you. I was just thinking if I disabled Microsoft I wouldn't be able to use Word or Access, etc and I used Windows Photo Viewer a lot and thought If I disabled it, it wouldn't work.

    Hey patti,

Remember, add ons are not the actual programs. Disable live photo gallery in firefox and you will still be able to use it on your computer. It likely takes away the ability to upload the picture using the program, and believe me, it is something you DO NOT DO. Therefore you have no need of it in reality. But it isn't a problem program, so it doesn't matter in truth if you keep it enabled or disabled, but it can only benefit you if it is disabled, as it keeps firefox more 'clean'

The point is to see if you notice any difference after disabling all add ons that we told you to, including live photo gallery. This is what we are trying to do, it is only temporary, and as you said, you can always enable it again if you find you suddenly need it.

If after a little bit you see that yahoo is still giving you errors, then it should be fine to enable some more add ons as it has been proven that the add ons are not a problem. I will list some add ons that I recommend you do not enable, so keep reading! Let us know if you get computer freezes after you enable the add ons, or if anything else goes wrong!

You mentioned that your computer is running smoothly now, so the only thing we are trying to fix now would be Yahoo mail. If it still isn't working with add ons disabled, re-enable Garmin, ad block, and quicktime, and check that java, live photo gallery, adobe, and silverlight are enabled.

I recommend leaving your cannon printer and Microsoft word add ons Disabled in firefox, because you can still use both even without them loaded in firefox. The truth is they usually mess with or slow down firefox, and you will still be able to use both programs, even the printer!! (the printer can still print anything in firefox, even with the add on disabled, you don't need it).

Additionally, You will need to update all your add ons for stability! Use this website to do that: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Let us know everything that says out of date, or to make it easier, snip it and post the picture here for us to see.

Either you or ignat said it was confusing having two threads, I thought you had to if you had two different problems. Anyway, I disabled everything you told me and sent a screenshot to the other thread of an error yahoo gives me sometimes: Mozilla Firefox errors-yahoo-error.png
