Everything is running and working, but it is slow, takes a while for websites to open. It was like that before xosftspy, but not right after we removed all that stuff.

Have you ever had a clean reinstall on this PC? This solves almost all of these issues.

A reason I ask is that you are so engaged with your computer and it's performance issues that you should consider advancing to the stage where you gain much more control over it - by learning to clean reinstall, obtain a perfect reinstall, then back it up with an image you can easily restore in 20 minutes if it becomes irreparable or irreparably sluggish.

Trying to obtain Win7's native instantaneous, feather-light state is often not possible with all of the preinstalled crapware and useless factory utilities which have much better versions built into Win7 - even and especially sometimes when you've uninstalled all of it. Going completely clean unshackles Win7 to be itself without the encumbrance.

In deciding if this is the course you want to follow, you'll have to let go of scaredy-cat worries about "ruining" your OS, as you are literally constructing it from new and will learn to have the control you desire. You can take a WIn7 backup image now so that at any time you can go back. We will also be here to help you all the way. It will actually be easier for us to help you since we know that going completely clean will solve all these issues from the outset, as long as you get and keep a tight grip on what you allow to be installed in the future.

It was running so good yesterday though. I don't trust myself to do a clean install, plus the fact I think it would be so frustrating to reinstall everything all over. I have an anxiety disorder and just don't think I can do this. I did do a repair install, but don't think I noticed much difference. You said I was so engaged with my computer, should I just leave it since it is working, just a little slow?

Can't imagine why your internet is slow. Perhaps it is because of constant internet temp folder deleting along with cookies, etc? DO you have your computer set to automatically delete these on exit, or have you checked the boxes to delete certain internet files? This is what mine looks like, and yours may be similar:

You will not want to have those boxes checked
BUT, if everything is working, it should be fine if you cannot find these settings. Its just a guess what is causing the delay. Glad we got it going for ya though! happy surfing. Stay safe :)

Mine doesn't look like yours. I go to Tools > recent history and I don't have the option of when to clear it out. But I do have everything checked to clean out, including cookies, temp files and history.

UNcheck them and click okay, as that checking them was only supposed to be temporary. That way, web pages can load faster as it isn't deleting them all the time

Aren't you supposed to clean out your cache and history and all that? I thought that is what kept your computer clean.
