WLM-Cannot restore files to it, as did manual export

Fearing a loss of files before a tricky operation, I backed up the whole storage folder. I didn't look for the WLM program to do it, I just did it manually. That is, simply using Windows Explorer. Sure enough, some files were lost in WLM. But on trying to manually restore from my backup, the system refuses to recognize the files. I can open them individually of course. Clues?

    Hello Koalady,

You might see if you may be able to use Option Two in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below after you open them to copy or move them to a email folder in Windows Live Mail one by one.

Windows Live Mail - Export and Import Email Messages

    Hope this helps,

    solved, with gritted teeth

Dear Brink, thank you very much for your solution. It's absurd to have to use it, that is, it's absurd that WLM cannot recognize its own files -- but it worked! I had about 250 messages to process, one by ..... one. Now I'm done. To a crisp.

You're most welcome. I'm happy to hear that you got them back in WLM. :)

I'm not sure why it's not allowing you to import them normally. Perhaps something went wrong while exporting, or the export may have gotten corrupted somehow later.
