Web pages do not load with or without Compatibility Mode in IE9

Most web sites that I try to visit cause an error to display at the bottom of the screen - A problem displaying xxxx.com caused internet explorer to refresh the web page using compatibilty view.
The problem is that even though it's using compatibility mode, it usually only displays the web site header info, there's no detail. This happens on most web sites. I have another pc with Win7 and IE9 and have no problems. I compared the settings and everything looks OK.

    Thanks

Did you try doing a reset on Internet Explorer?

Does the same issue happen on other browsers, if you have any installed?

Yes, I've actually reset it a few times. One oddity - after resetting IE9, the homepage is uk.msn.com. Don't know where the UK part comes in, but that's really not a problem, but is it a symptom?

I just installed Chrome. So far all the web sites are fine. The same sites on IE9 do not display fully.

Very strange. What happens if you use IE9 as a different user on the same PC?

Also, have you tried running it with addons disabled?

Try uninstalling IE9 and see what happens (you should be reverted to IE8)

    See this link:
    Internet Explorer 9 - Uninstall

Then test to see if the same thing occurs on IE8, if not you have a couple options:
    1. Stick with IE8
    2. Simply use Firefox, Chrome, etc.
    3. Try installing IE9 again and hope it works this time

Thanks, IE8 works fine. Chrome works fine. I think I'll use these for a while. Maybe one rainy day I'll try IE9 again.

    Again, Thanks for your help
