    Exporting Addresses/Messages From Thunderbird 32bit

    Hi,

Is there an option to export the address book and messages from Thunderbird ? I just cannot seem to find the export option.

Also, if I do manage to export the messages from a 32bit version of Thunderbird, will a 64bit version of Thunderbird be able to import them ?

I am trying to piggy back my address book and messages from Outlook Express on my old WinXP PC to Thunderbird 64bit on my new Windows7 PC. I have imported the address book and messages from Outlook Express on my old PC into a 32 bit version of Thunderbird on the old PC but cannot get any further.

    Thx for any help

Get the ImportExport message extension for Thunderbird and install it...
    http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html

    Tbird:
    highlight a folder
Tools - Import/Export in mbox/eml format - Export all messages in the
    folder - EML format
pick a location to save the files
    OK
the files will be saved in a subfolder
(do this for all the folders)

    Windows Mail/Windows Live Mail:
File - Import - Messages - Windows Mail 7/Windows Live Mail
select the folder location you saved the files to
    next
    All folders
    next
    Finish

QFT this works GREAT, I've now done it several times, even going from one computer to another with the data stored in a different location on the destination.

How does this work with Outlook 2010

Once I back up with Mozbackup, how do I get my messages and folders into Outlook 2010? I am using the most current version of Thunderbird.

    Thanks.
