    Cannot Start Downloads

I have a very strange issue where I can't start any downloads that require you to click a link to start. This is an issue across all browsers including Chrome, IE and Firefox. What happens is I click a link and then it seems like it's preparing to download but the download never actually starts. Anyone have any idea what this could be caused by?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Most likely cause in all browsers is either corruption or a rouge security suite partially uninstalled or an expiring security suite like Norton/ Mcafee/....
Add which security suite has been installed and what you presently use ?
    Cheers.

Hi, thanks for your help. I don't use any anti-virus beyond Windows Defender and never installed one.

    Hi,
Okay I would suggest downloading all or at lest Malwarebytes using Safe mode with networking and see what it finds,
    Safe mode with networking,
Shut down your machine, Unplug-Hold the power button down for 30/45 seconds (Power Drain)
Power up and Tap the F8 key continuously until you see a black page with white text,
Use the down arrow key to toggle to safe mode with networking/ hit the enter key.
    Login as usual
    Other advanced methods,

Once in safe mode with networking,
Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,

You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
See this tutorial on how to download and run Malwarebytes,
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,

Please Do Not clean/ Delete or Remove Any detections before posting the scan results first before review especially Malwarebytes,

SAS is safe to remove anything it finds

This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,
