My guess ... You either don't know how to configure your OS or your using outdated hardware. (or potential virus/spyware issues)

Never had an issue with FF 3.0, 3.5 or any of the beta's inbetween...On Either Vista or Win7 (or any of it's Beta's) It's always opened up quickly and never has had an issues with page load times or downloads.

Could you goto c:\windows\minidump and find the dmp file (*.dmp) zip it and upload it to us so we can look at it

I don't have a windows\minidump folder as I assume the errors aren't giving any BSOD's
