    +1 to everything here. You've got yourself some malware, as that's what I would term that thing - I just did some research, and it's definitely not friendly. If it is the only thing you have, however, you can't change it - you can only add new ones first. I'd recommend what the others have here, specifically go about cleaning your PC first, then set a default search engine later (Internet Explorer Gallery)

    You should download & use another browser until you succeed in removing Babylon.

    Remove Babylon Toolbar and "Search the web (Babylon)" (Uninstall Guide)

    Add another search engine, enable it and then you should be able to delete Babylon.
