    IE9 search box

Does anyone know how to get the search box back in IE9? When searching from the url bar the search field disappears and can't be modified for another search. thanks...

If you want to start a new search from the Address bar ( different name for url bar ) just use the keyboard shortcut
Ctrl+ A & any text present will turn blue the next letter entered deletes the old text & becomes the first letter of a new search.

thanks stve, but that is just the opposite of what I want. When a search is typed in and you press enter, the url for the search is placed in the location bar and the search text is deleted.

With the old search box the text stayed in place and you could edit it after the search was made.

Not sure I understand your use of location bar.
From Wikipaedia An address bar (also location bar or URL bar) is a feature in a web browser that either shows the current URL or accepts a typed URL that the user wishes to go on to.
When I search with IE9 I type the search term press enter & the default search page Google opens with the search results
the original search term is still present on the Google page in the search field above the results, you edit it there not in the Address bar.

Everything you said is correct, but the old search box gave me a second way of controlling my search data.

Well you only need one way & the separate search box in IE 8 just means less space available for web pages.

    I have a 1920 x 1080 display and space is not a problem and I am spoiled.

While on IE9 I have found a real problem. The "Favorites" bar/window is black if in scratch "Basic" and "Aero". In "Classic" it is normal. Anyone know why?
