Can't access Firefox, IE (regular mode), can in IE 64bit only

    Hi,

I didn't turn my laptop off, which is normal when I'm downloading stuff, I didnt do any updating lately. When I woke up this morning, my computer can't access the internet. I can't log onto Skype, can't access web using IE, Firefox( my regular one used the most), a chines one I sometime use for chinese websites. I have another 2 computers in the house and they both are fine, can access all programs as usual. After using restore point, I reset all firewall( remove all firewall), removed all blocking programs, redownloaded IE and Firefox on another computer and re-install on the one with problem, nothing.

I thought it was network issue. even though it shows 65% connectivity, I tried to reset the router, the whole works, nothing. other 2 computers still fine. I put in my d-link use wireless thing, have connection, websites still cannot be accessed.

I finally tried IE 64 bit, which worked. So I thought, ok, maybe a clitch. i tried other programs again, nothing. For some strange reason, only ie 64 can access the net on this computer now, which I HATE!!!!!

There is no firewalls on router or otherwise. ISP is not limiting, as other computers are fine.

Please, someone advise me what is going on. I can't for the life of me figure what is wrong and I can't stand IE 64 anymore, I need firefox back in my life!!!

    Welcome to Seven Forums wang14h.

    1. Go to start

    2. In search box, type cmd , right click cmd.exe, and then click "Run as administrator"

    3. Then type:

    netsh winsock reset

    4. Press enter

    5. Restart PC

    Hopefully that will fix it
