Three of the same downloaded control add-on

Still trying to resolve issues with IE8. Looking at downloaded controls I see three instances of Java Plug-in. All installed at the same time when I installed the latest version of Java.

Is this normal? If I remove one (and then two) will it remove all of them? Should I just disable two?

Then looking at "run without permissions" I see even more instances of Java Plug-n.

I do want to keep Java Plug-in but wonder why I have so many of the same?

Those three seam to be the same. If it was my computer I would remove all Java and get a fresh download of Java. I think this might answer all your questions.
    What is Java Update?

Those three showed up after the most recent download/install. I guess I could do it again.

Part of my issue I think is because I have 64 bit I installed that version. But I also installed the 32 bit version asit says it is needed if you have IE 32 bit, whic I do.

As a test I just uninstalled the 32 bit and all those entries disappeared. But if I open control panel I don't have the update tab available.

Hopefully someone understands and can direct me. Thanks

edit: As soon as I install the 32 bit version (needed because I have 32 bit IE) all three of those add-ons appear again.

I think all those instances of Java are ok.

Here's mine from only one install of Java 32 bit.

Thanks Flatiron. I assume they have to be as I uninstalled/reinstalled numerous times in the last few weeks and they always are there.

FWIW I disabled the two SSV helpers after reading about it somewhere here on sevenforums

    I don't have any Java 1.6.0._31 plug in at all. I.E. 32 or 64.
