    Firefox Updates

I have decided that I am not going to install the Firefox new versions every time they send one out, which is very often. It seems to always mess up some setting in my browser, I keep getting a prompt to install the new version. There was someone on here who did not install the new versions and I was wondering how they stop the prompt from continually asking to install the new version. Thanks,

i would choose the check for updates but choose whether to install them, thats how i have it now, you can then check to see what the update is for ,in case there is a major security risk you need to be aware of.
also you can have the compatibility add on which allows your ad ons to continue working when you update.
every add on i had four years ago still work now as a result . not that i use them all now,

I had mine set that way but when an update would come in, it would continue to prompt me to update it. It is annoying. Doesn't it keep prompting you to add the update?

Yea, that is what I am trying to stop. The only way is to put it on "Don't Check for Updates". I can check for updates myself every month or so.

when you have it on check but let me decide ,then when you go to the about page it checks and then there is a button to install update.
thats how it works for me with no prompts to update unless i got to the about page.
