Just got new computer and some websites don't work??

Some websites don't work. Like Facebook, Hotmail, and Yahoo. Pretty much any website that requires any sort of log in. MSN and Google work perfectly fine. I've tried googling this and have come up empty handed. I've run the connection troubleshooter and it just comes up that it doesn't have a problem. I'm assuming this is a connection setting problem. But I have no idea where to start.

    Hi Bob,
This is not connection problem since you're connected already and able to browse google

I belive is browser setting problem, preventing you browsing https sites.
    what browser have you installed?
also what anti virus program have you installed?

Just the normal Internet Explorer. I've downloaded Firefox and get the same problem. McAfee is the virus detector.

McAfee may be blocking any pop-ups or pop-under ads on those sites.

If you decide to try another anti virus, which I recommend. I use MSE and Windows 7 built in firewall.
I also use MBAM Pro and SAS with good luck.

For many web sites to work properly you will need to install Java, link below for this. :)

Don't forget to go to Windows Update
Center and get all the required updates for your new system.

Downloaded Java and still the same problems. I'll try disabling the anti-virus next.

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Adobe Flash player version?

The latest 64-bit version includes the 32-bit version as well.

What happens for the web sites that don't work?
Does the site open, but not display correctly?
Can you not even open the page for these sites?
    Is any error message displayed?

When I try to access Yahoo or Facebook the browser page goes white and nothing pops up. It just keeps loading and loading but never actually loads anything. I'm not sure if there is an error message.

This is my parents computer actually. They took it to best buy yesterday and best buy said that they fixed it and that they could come pick it up today. Today they brought it home and it does the same thing it always did.

I'll post more information when I get back to there house to look at it again.
