IE9 preventing access to web pages

IE9 won't let me in to the web control panel I use for web sites I run. I have uninstalled IE9 several times so I can work properly with IE8, but unfortunately it insists on re-installing as a 'critical update' every time I turn my computer on.
    2 points -
    1 - how can I stop IE9 downloading until I want it?
2 - how can I make IE9 let me access the web pages I need?

Welcome to Seven Forums DRE44. The 1st one is relatively easy. The 2nd will depend on whether the CP is compatible with IE 9.

To prevent. You can manually hide the update, but for now:

Download: Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 9 - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Internet Explorer 9 - Blocker Toolkit, FAQ, Update | TechNet

    For compatibility

How to use Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 9

Let us know how it goes. A Guy

IE9 'takeover' problem seems to be sorted. IE8 opened up this morning!

    Will investigate compatability ASAP.

    Thanks again for your help.
