In IE9, how to be prompted to save or open a PDF download?

In IE9, when I click on a link to a PDF file, I don't see the following prompt:

"Do you want to save or open <file name and size> from <web site>?"

Instead, the downloaded PDF file is automatically opened in Adobe Reader X (but not opened in-place within IE9 because I have disabled "Display PDF in brower" from Adobe Reader X).

I want to see that prompt for PDF files. But, under Windows 7, in the "Default Programs" or "Folder Options" applet of the Control Panel, I can not find an equivalent to the old "Confirm open after download" option.

    What should I do?

    Edit:

I found two articles that may provide the solution to this problem. But they are in German. Would anybody tell us about the articles in English?

I solved this problem as I followed the instruction on this webpage:

Not prompted to save .pdf file after download

The instruction, In a nutshell, is that you apply both of the following two Registry hacks:

    (1)

    Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroPDF.PDF.1 , and then change the data of the EditFlags value from 00 00 01 00 to 00 00 00 00

    (2)

    Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document.7 , and then change the data of the EditFlags value from 00 00 01 00 to 00 00 00 00

After I applied these two registry hacks, the prompt I get is not the common "Do you want to save or open <file name and size> from <web site>?" that appears at the bottom of a web page, but a new dialogue, as the attached picture shows:
